In a mansion, filled with guests and decorated for a wedding, two men struggle over the possession of a revolver. A shot rings out and to the horror of the assembled throng, a lady falls, dying. She is the mother of one of the protagonists and her deathbed confession is the key that unravels the complicated events that led up to this tragic climax - a tale that involves switched identities, multiple disguises, an arranged marriage, attempted murder, heartless cruelty, rapacious greed and (for good measure) a dancing girl whose mother (were she around) would have good reason to suspect her condition.

Lookalike brother's Govardhan&Harshvardhan exchange their names in childhood and decide to live each others life forever without the knowledge of their parents but what will happen when their strict father will come to know about this.

The story is told by Devika Gaikwad, mother of Kalyani and Ketki, two sisters who grew together, had the same passion for singing, faced many troubles, struggles, even got deceived many times in their personal life and finally tasted immense success; but later had differences, misunderstandings which led their separation for a good 21 years, in the last episode they reconcile forgetting the differences and the show ends on a good note.

Raja and Ashok are old friends, almost like brothers. One day Raja meets and falls helplessly in love with Madhu. A bit later, Madhu and Ashok meet by accident, and Ashok also falls in love with her. It gets further complicated by the fact that Ashok's father was in love with Madhu's mother and continues to carry a grudge against the family.
